Nioh - Guide - Kodama Location Guide Mission 2: Deep in the Shadows

Misson 1: Isle Of Demons

Kodama Locations
1. (Rice Farmer Hat Kodama)
From your first shrine (start point) go into the cavern running straight ahead (kill the enemies where need), when you end up on the cliff stay on it untill you can enter the first entrance on your left.

There are a lot enemies inside so be careful, kill them all and run towards the right side where you will end up with a room with a treasure chest. Look to the right and there will be another room with two treasure chests. Kodama is hidden next to the right of the open chest.

2. (Brown Bowl Hat Kodama)
You will need the Boss's Room Key for this Kodama

Run to the open area from the treasure room and go under the bridge and follow this path untill you encounter a lamp with a entrance to the right, there will be 2 enemies in the little cave here and the big samurai will drop the key.

Run back again to the open area and head up the path from where the bow enemy was shooting you. There is a door at the end of this path which will be opened with the Boss's Room Key.

Unlock the door kill the bandit "boss" that is sleeping and you will see the Kodama the moment you open the door basically, but to be more precies he is hiding in the corner next to treasure chest(left of it)

3. (Rice Farmer Hat Kodama)
Head back to the open area again and under the bridge and keep running down until you end up outside again on the cliff, head to left and you will see a hot spring on your right.

Stay on the left path on the third entrance there is a small room with another treasure chest that has another Kodama hiding (left)next to it.

4. (White Bowl Hat Kodama)
Run outside to the cliff area and turn to the left (watch out for bats on your next entrance), enter the area to find your second shrine.

From your 2nd shrine keep running straight untill you get to a point where you will see glowing mushrooms - run over them or hit them - there will be a Kodama hidden under them.

5. (Black Bowl Hat Kodama)
Turn around to the lit area and enter the small area with the treasure where you can drop down, kill the enemies on the path and on the left side of the path you will see the glowing mushrooms again , crumble them and another Kodama will be revealed that was hidden under them.

Option 2: If you want to reach this Kodama from the second shrine run straight again and enter the first entrance on your left which has a chest but where you can drop down too. Kill the enemies on the path and on the left side of the path you will see the glowing mushrooms again , crumble them and another Kodama will be revealed that was hidden under them.

6. (Red Bowl Hat Kodama) 
From the point where the fifth Kodama was run straight ahead where you will see a body a item on it, drop down and run to the left of this path keep going straight until you end up in a new area.
You will have two choices where you can drop down the ladder on your left which has two enemies or run on the narrow cliff on the right.
Take the ladder down on your left and dispatch both enemies on the narrow path, keep following the path and at the end of it you will a Kodama just chilling there.

7. (Red Bowl Hat Kodama)
Go back up the ladder and take the right narrow cliff, take the right entrance that leads you to the bottom of this cave.
Hug the wall on your right until you reach a narrow opening - be careful of all the Yokai here - eventually you will be at the end of this path where there is a treasure chest (another enemy is hiding behind the chest so be careful) When you face the chest turn around to find a Kodama standing on some rocks next to the wall.

8. (Brown Bowl Hat Kodama)
Head back to the open area again near the ramp from where you entered behind a big stone wall there will be opening with crytals next to it. Enter this path keep going straight until you end in a area full of crystals....you get the point by now I think, destroy the crystals on the left and the last Kodama will be revealed.

Option 2: You can also enter this area through the third shrine, where you will need to drop down in the middle of the narrow cliff. From there you take two ladders down to enter the bottom of the cave.
If you entered this area from the ladder , go straight ahead untill you will find a narrow opening with some crystals in front of it. Enter this opening and keep going straight until you end in a area full of crystals....you get the point by now I think, destroy the crystals on the left and the last Kodama will be revealed.

Kodama Guide / Info
There are little green cute creatures named Kodama (spirits that inhabit trees in Japanese folklore) scattered through all the missions.
Some are pretty well hidden and others are just chilling in some house/shack waiting to be picked up.
Each Kodama belongs to a certain blessing, they have cute little traditional Japanese hats that will let you know to which blessing they belong.
They will a certain blessing depending on which Kodama you have found.

Be careful fighting near them though, they will hide and dig underground (you will only see their hat) until you have cleared the enemies near them.

The blessing are as follows

Oracle Blessing – Increases the amount of Amarita acquired by a percentage (Rice Farmer Hat)

Swordsman Blessing – Increases weapon drop rate by a percentage (Red Bowl Hat)

Warrior Blessing – Increases armor drop rate by a percentage (Black Bowl Hat)

Healer Blessing – Increases elixir drop rate by a percentage (White Bowl Hat)

Hunter Blessing – Increases ammunition drop rate by a percentage (Brown Bowl Hat)

Elixirs Restock Upgrade
Kodama also have another very important role which is that they will give a extra elixir after you die. For each 5 kodama that you can find you will be given 1 more elixir when you die.

For example you have 0 elixirs left in the storage and died and found 0 kodama, the shrine will give you 3 elixirs. If you found 5 kodama you will start with 4. if you found 25 in the region you will start with 8 even if you 0 elixirs in the storage.
